We are based about forty minutes north of Bari airport, and the work goes wherever you are marrying: the cathedral by the harbour, a masseria in the countryside, a beach, a castle, a small church in a hill town. The method is reportage. We do not stop the day in order to arrange it. We study it beforehand instead, so we already know which door you come out of, where the light falls at six, and who to watch when the best man stands up. If you want a few portraits of the two of you, we will take them: a few minutes in good light, not an hour taken out of your own party.

How does the day start?
It does not start at the altar. It starts in a room with the dress hanging on the back of a door, someone ironing something that does not need ironing, your father in the corridor with nothing to do with his hands. Often there are two rooms in two houses twenty minutes apart, which is one of the reasons couples ask for a second photographer.
In these hours the camera is barely there. Nothing is arranged in front of the mirror on request: if a moment is in the photographs, it happened. What tells us where to be, and when, is the running order we built with you before the wedding. If you fly out a few days early, this is the conversation worth having in person, at the studio in Trani or over a coffee by the harbour.
What happens during the ceremony?
Church or civil ceremony, indoors or in a garden, the rule does not change: be there without being noticed. We agree positions beforehand with whoever is running the ceremony, we move in the gaps, and nobody is asked to turn towards a camera. Churches here are darker inside than they look from the square: thick walls, small windows, a great deal of stone. We work with the light that is there rather than lighting the room, which is why the ceremony pictures look like the room you were actually standing in. Then the doors open, the rice comes out, and you are back in the sun. The venues we return to most often are described one by one.
And the reception?
The aperitivo, the hour of drinks before dinner, is where your guests finally meet each other, and from behind a camera it is the richest hour of the day: nobody is performing and everybody is talking. Then the long tables, the speeches, the cake, the first dance, the table that empties when the right song starts. One of us is on all of it, without a break. While one lens is on you, the other is on the room, on the parents, on the friends who flew in.
Where the venue and the flight rules allow it, a drone and an action camera add what the ground cannot give: the masseria from above at dusk, the lit drive, the circle of people around you. How many hours do you stay?
As many as the day needs, agreed in advance. Some couples want the full arc, from the dress on the door to the last dance; others start at the ceremony. Hours are the single heaviest item on a quote, so it is the first thing we settle together. The page on what a full day costs sets out how the rest of the figure is built up.
Will you make us pose?
No. There is no posing to camera and nothing is repeated for a better take. If you would like a handful of portraits of the two of you, we will find ten quiet minutes at the right hour, usually the one before sunset, and give you back to your guests.
Our wedding is in August. Is the heat a problem?
It is a factor rather than a problem. Between roughly midday and four the sun is overhead and hard, and nobody is comfortable standing in it. Most summer weddings here set the ceremony in the late afternoon and use the hour before sunset for portraits, which is also the hour the stone turns gold. If your times are already fixed with the venue, we plan around them.
What happens to the photographs after the wedding?
Luciano makes the final selection and does the post-production himself, and there is room in it for what you prefer. Printing is a separate conversation: the photographs can become an album or a photo book, an object kept in the house rather than a folder you scroll. We agree timings with you in writing before you book, rather than publishing a promise that would not hold for every wedding.
